Join us on Saturday, June 7, at the Iowa Arts Festival! The Family Folk Machine will sing from 2:30 to 3:00 on the Family Stage as part of Children’s Day at the festival. We’ll be trying out some new songs along with a couple of old favorites.
Join us on Saturday, May 10, from 3:00 to 4:30 at Uptown Bill’s for our monthly Community Folk Sing. We will have piles of Rise Up Singing books, thanks to the Senior Center. Just bring your voice, your instrument, and your friends and relations for a fun afternoon of sing-along requests. Everyone is welcome.
Community Folk Sings take place on the second Saturday of each months and are sponsored by Uptown Bill’s and The Family Folk Machine (a Senior Center group).
The Family Folk Machine presents “Down By the Riverside,” our spring concert, on Sunday, May 4, at 3 p.m. at the Senior Center. The concert will include familiar water songs like “The Water is Wide” and “Michael, Row the Boat Ashore” as well as lovely and lively new favorites. Read more

On Saturday, April 26, a group of Folk Machinists met at the Coral Ridge Mall for an Earth Day event at the food court. Along with the local chapter of the 100 Grannies, the Iowa River Friends, and others, we sang the Climate Song. Read more

The Family Folk Machine will host our monthly Community Folk Sing at Uptown Bill’s on February 8, 2014, from 3:00 to 4:30. We will focus our group efforts this month on paying tribute to Pete Seeger, who was and is such a big part of the reason we all sing.
Every second Saturday, we gather at Uptown Bill’s to sing favorites from the book Rise Up Singing. Bring your instrument and request a song!
